When it comes to the beautiful white sandy beaches, colourful coral islands and clear blue seas, Sri Lanka’s East Coast is a must see! Trincomalee (AKA-Trinco), Arugam Bay, Nilaveli are the most popular amongst the travellers. Trinco is famous for its natural harbour, Nilaveli for its calm and shallow beach that stretch up to half a mile and Arugam bay for the surfing enthusiast.

The East Coast was heavily impacted by the recent 2004 Tsunami. However is fast becoming a major tourist attraction, as a lot of work has been put into rebuilding this beautiful destination.

The East Coast is best visited during March-October.
